TAMPA, NOV. 17, 2014 - Junior outside hitter Erin Fairs recorded the third-best defensive performance in USF history Friday, and The American recognized her efforts Monday with another American Honor Roll selection.
Fairs posted a career high 35 digs, just four shy of USF's all-time record, against SMU Friday, and added 20 kills to grab her seventh 20-kill match of the year, and lead USF in a tight match against the Mustangs.
Fairs combined that effort with a second double-double Sunday against Tulsa, posting 12 kills and 13 digs in a three-set loss to the Golden Hurricane. Averaging a conference-high 4.57 kills per set as well as a conference high 6.86 digs per set over the weekend, Fairs was a shoe-in for the honor.
USF has four matches remaining on its 2014 schedule, traveling to Houston and Tulane this weekend, before returning home Thanksgiving week to host Memphis and Cincinnati.
