TAMPA, NOV. 17, 2014 – Sophomore forward Chris Perry was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll on Monday after averaging 19.5 points and 8.5 rebounds to help USF go 2-0 last week.
The Bartow, Fla., native posted a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds in a 73-64 win over Jackson State on Sunday. In Friday's season-opening 75-61 win over Flagler, Perry had 18 points and seven rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench.
Perry, a Preseason American Athletic Conference Second Team member, was an efficient shooter, going 14-of-21 (66.7 percent) from the field and 11-of-13 (84.6 percent) from the free throw line.
Joining Perry on the Honor Roll was Shaheed Davis (UCF), Ryan Boatright (UConn), Octavius Ellis (Cincinnati) and Ben Moore (SMU). Houston's Devonta Pollard was named player of the week while UCF's B.J. Taylor was named rookie of the week. The rookie of the week award is given to freshmen or redshirt freshmen only.
Perry and the Bulls will play on the road for the first time this season when they play at UAB (0-1) on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. Radio coverage begins with pregame on 1010 AM at 7:30 p.m. ET. At 8 p.m. and at the conclusion of the USF Football Show, 98.7 FM will pick up the broadcast.
