TAMPA, DEC. 28, 2015 – USF senior forward Angel Nunez was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll on Monday.
The native of Washington Heights, N.Y., scored a season-high 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the Bulls' 66-49 loss at Seton Hall last Tuesday. He went 9-of-16 from the field, including 1-of-5 from 3-point range.
It is the first recognition from the conference office for Nunez, who has averaged 16.7 points and 7.7 rebounds. Joining Nunez on the honor roll was Caleb White (East Carolina), Damyean Dotson (Houston), Avery Woodson (Memphis) and Nic Moore (SMU). UConn's Daniel Hamilton was named player of the week and Jacob Evans of Cincinnati was named rookie of the week.

The USF men's basketball team returns seven from last season's team including regular starters Ruben Guerrero, Chris Perry, Nehemias Morillo and Bo Zeigler. Orlando Antigua is in his second season as the head coach after spending the previous five season as an assistant to Naismith Hall of Fame coach John Calipari. USF's schedule is comprised of nine teams which had an RPI of 54 or better last season. The Bulls host 19 games, five of those teams made the NCAA Tournament last season.
