TAMPA  - University of South Florida Softball is proud to announce The USF Series, presented by the City of Clearwater and St. Petersburg/Clearwater Sports Commission, that includes four separate events that will bring the largest NCAA Division I softball tournaments to the Tampa Bay/Clearwater area. 

"The opportunity that the City of Clearwater and the Pinellas County Visitors and Convention Bureau provide us with in hosting the two Under Armour Tournaments and the USF The Game and Wilson-DeMarini Tournaments is incredible," said USF head coach Ken Eriksen. "To host nearly 60 teams puts our tournament series as a marquee event during the collegiate softball season."

All games will be played at the Eddie C Moore Complex in sparkling Clearwater, Fla.  Tickets are now available online at www.usfseries.com. 

The first in The Series, February 12-14, will be the USF Wilson-DeMarini Tournament and will boast eight of the top Division I softball teams in the country. Teams that will be participating in the tournament are: USF, Canisius, East Carolina, No. 3 Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, No. 13 Georgia Tech, Illinois State and Long Island.

The second event of The Series will be the Under Armour Invitational Tournament, held March 5-7, which will host another 27 highly competitive NCAA Division I softball teams. The Invitational is currently the largest softball tournament in the country. The teams participating in the Under Armour Invitational include: USF, Alabama-Birmingham, Austin Peay, Ball State, Boston, Bradley, Central Michigan, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International, Fordham, Jacksonville, Loyola-Chicago, Memphis, Penn State, Quinnipiac, Radford, Robert Morris, Rutgers, St. Joseph's, Temple, Toledo and No. 20 UMass.

The following week, March 12-14, the Bulls will play host to the third event of The Series, the Under Armour Showcase. This tournament will boast 26 teams. The teams participating in the Under Armour Showcase are: USF, Ball State, Boston College, Central Michigan, Cleveland State, Drake, Fairfield, Florida Gulf Coast, Indiana, Jacksonville State, James Madison, Kennesaw State, Long Island, Maine, Middle Tennessee State, New Mexico State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Quinnipiac, Radford, Southern Illinois, St. Joseph's, Stony Brook, Temple and Toledo.

USF concludes The Series with USF The Game Tournament, March 19-21, with 16 teams heading to Clearwater. The teams participating in the USF The Game Tournament are: USF, Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, No. 23 Florida State, No. 13 Georgia Tech, Illinois State, Long Island, Maryland, North Florida, Northern Illinois, No. 14 Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Syracuse, Texas Tech and Towson.
