TAMPA - University of South Florida women's basketball standout Jessica Lawson has been named to the BIG EAST Conference women's basketball honor roll for the week ending Feb. 7.

Lawson, a 6-3 center from Orlando, helped the Bulls to a 1-1 record last week averaging 19.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per outing. She recorded one of the best games of her collegiate career pouring in a career-high 33 points on 11-14 shooting from the field and a near perfect 11-12 from the free throw line against Rutgers. In addition, she added 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots against the Scarlet Knights. Her 33 points was also USF's first 30-point outing since Janae Stokes poured in 39 points against Grambling on Dec. 18, 2009.

Lawson's double-double against Rutgers was a league leading 12th of the season and the 22nd of her collegiate career.

On the year, Lawson is averaging 15.0 points per game and a league best 10.6 rebounds per outing. Lawson is also shooting 52.9 percent (126-238) from the field on the year.

This week's BIG EAST honor roll award marks the second of the season for Lawson. She was also named on Dec. 8, in addition to two BIG EAST Player of the Year awards on Dec. 13 and Jan. 31.

The Bulls kick off a three-game road stretch on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 9 p.m. (ET)/8 p.m. (CT) when they face Marquette in a nationally televised game on CBS College Sports.
