TAMPA – The first week of the University of South Florida volleyball camps are currently underway at The Corral on the campus of the University of South Florida. Head coach Claire Lessinger and her staff are in the midst of hosting the first of multiple camps during the summer. 

Along with Lessinger and her USF assistants, the camp coaching staff consists of several USF players, both current and former. Follow usfolleyball on twitter to see who is named camp counselor of the day.

The USF Volleyball Camp provides quality volleyball instruction to both beginning and experienced players. They strive to maintain a player-to-coach ratio that allows campers to receive individual attention from their staff.

If you missed this week, check out Elite Camp, July 23-25. This is USF’s only overnight camp of the summer. Elite camp is designed for the high school player who plans to continue playing volleyball at the collegiate level. This camp will offer insight to the practice level and preparation expected of college players. The camp consists of typical college practice, film match preparation and team bonding activities.

USF Volleyball closes out camp with four different options during the July 26 week. Gold Camp is July 26-30, while Skills Camp is July 26-28, Position Camp is July 29 and Competition Camp is July 30.

The cost of Skills Camp is $230 and features training of all volleyball skills. Each skill will be broken down and taught with high repetition for noticeable improvement. This camp includes team drills and competition, in addition to the following: Skill Evaluation, Serving, Passing, Hitting, Setting, Blocking, Individual Defense, Team Defense, Team Offense, Skills Stations, Ball Control Drills and Competition. 

Position camp is designed for the camper who specializes in a specific position for $90. It is a one-day clinic that is position specific training only. The positions offered are setter, libero, defensive specialist, middle hitter, outside hitter, right-side hitter.

Competition Camp is a one-day camp in which the campers compete on July 30th for $90. This camp provides a competitive environment filled with various drills and games in which campers are taught strategies to win. It is open to individual campers, groups and teams.
