TAMPA– The University of South Florida men’s soccer team will be hosting Real Salt Lake, a Major League Soccer team, on Sat., Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the USF Soccer Stadium as a fundraising game for the program.

“I think it is a great opportunity for our players,” said USF head coach George Kiefer. “We are playing the best-of-the-best, so our guys will learn about themselves as individuals and as a team.”

Admission to the game will be $5 (advance purchase) or $7 on game day.

The fundraiser will assist the USF men’s soccer program in their day-to-day operations and assist them become one of the elite men’s soccer programs in the country. The 2008 Bulls captured USF’s first men’s BIG EAST Championship with a 1-0 overtime victory against St. John’s University. The Bulls advanced to the Elite Eight, the highest place ever for men’s soccer in NCAA Tournament play.

Real Salt Lake formed in 2005 and won the Rocky Mountain Cup in the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

The Bulls will also be hosting an MLS Clinic prior to the game at the USF Soccer Training Ground, which USF and Real Salt Lake players will be teaching soccer fundamentals and skills. The cost of admission is $10, which will include a ticket to the game.
