Jones Earns Sixth BIG EAST Weekly Award

TAMPA - University of South Florida junior guard Dominique Jones averaged 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.5 steals in two games to earn his third BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll award.

Jones has also been the BIG EAST Player of the Week three times this season, including back-to-back honors on Jan. 25 and Feb. 1.  Jones was also previously named to the Honor Roll Nov. 23 and Jan. 11.

To start the week, the Lake Wales native hung 29 points on No. 7 Georgetown in USF's 72-64 victory over the Hoyas in the nation's capital. Jones also grabbed eight rebounds and collected four assists and three steals while shooting 47.1 (8-17) percent from the floor.

At Notre Dame on Feb. 7, Jones produced a team-high eight assists while pulling down five rebounds and scoring 10 points.

On the season, Jones has scored 503 points (21.9 ppg) by hitting 47.9 percent from the field and 73.7 percent at the line. He also averages 6.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.5 blocks in 36.7 minutes per game.

Jones and the Bulls wrap up a three-game road stretch on Feb. 13 at Marquette, then return to the Sun Dome for a two-game homestand. Check out USF as it battles Cincinnati on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. and on Feb. 20 against St. John's at Noon.
