TAMPA - Four members of the University of South Florida women's soccer team (3-0-0) were named to the 2010 Racer Classic All-Tournament Team led by junior
Chelsea Klotz who was named tournament MVP in addition to winning the Golden Boot.
Klotz was joined by fellow juniors
Molly Stack,
Valorie O'Brien and Venicia Reed on the All-Tournament team. Klotz led the way for the Bulls scoring four goals in the two game span, including both game winners while Reed tallied a goal in each game for the Bulls.
Stack and O'Brien anchored a relentless Bulls defense that limited the opposition to just five shots on goal in two games. Both were effective on the offensive third as well as O'Brien picked up two assists in Sunday's 4-0 win over SE Missouri State and Stack had a helper in win over Murray State, 4-2, on Friday afternoon.
The four selections were the most by any team on the 12-player tournament team.
En route to winning the Racer Classic, USF outscored the opponents, 8-2, outshooting the Redhawks and Racers by a combined 44-19 margin.
The undefeated Bulls return to Tampa for two straight matches at the USF Soccer Stadium. They will renew the "War on I-4" as UCF comes to town on Sept. 3rd at 7:30 p.m. followed by Stetson on Sept. 5 at 1 p.m.
