TAMPA - The USA Softball Women's National Team wrapped up its trip to Canada with another strong showing against world competition.

Head coach Ken Eriksen's squad finished as the runner up at the ISF World FP Championship on Sunday after dropping the title game against Japan, 2-1. Team USA went 9-1 in the tournament and outscored its opponents, 86-6.

Team USA started off its competition this summer by winning the Title IX Celebration Game and capturing the World Cup of Softball title. The U.S. started its run in Canada with a runner-up finish at the Canadian Open Championship.

Before coaching Team USA, Eriksen guided the USF softball team to the program's first appearance at the Women's College World Series. Eriksen is in his second year of coaching the U.S. national team.
