TAMPA - USF women's
soccer continues its magical season Friday afternoon in Connecticut against
Georgetown in the Big East semifinals.
The Bulls (12-5-3) have
prepared for their Big East matchup against the Hoyas despite the last-minute change of venue and time due to the aftermath of
Hurricane Sandy.
After an exciting 4-3 finish in
penalty kicks against Louisville, the Bulls are hoping to continue their
stellar defensive play that has been a key component to their success so far
this year. Including Louisville, USF has shut out 10 teams this
season and has kept opponents scoreless in four of its past six games.
"We have a mature back four who
listens to their coaches and they just get it," said head coach Denise
Schilte-Brown.
Schilte-Brown is also looking
forward to her team facing Georgetown for the first time this season.
"I feel like it's going to be a
really good matchup," Schilte-Brown said. "There are no
pre-conceived notions about how they play."
The 14th ranked
Hoyas (15-2-2) are coming off a 1-0 victory over DePaul in the quarterfinals of
the Big East tournament. The Hoyas, winners of the National Division, are
on a hot streak of their own as they have won eight of their last 10 matches
this season.
