USF Around the Horns Coaches Tour Set for June

TAMPA – The USF Bulls Club is pleased to announce a revamped format for its Florida swing of the USF Around the Horns Coaches Tour.  The 2013 edition of Around the Horns will be a caravan, as USF's coaches, administrators and staff will make stops at four locations in a five-day span.

From June 3-7 the USF Bulls will be in Orlando, Lakeland, Pinellas and Sarasota-Manatee.

Unlike the last handful of years, the Florida portion of this year's Around the Horns will feature more community involvement and more time spent at each location. Highlighting the caravan will be evening receptions, special community appearances, and luncheons at the USF campuses in Sarasota and St. Petersburg.

The tour kicks off the week of June 3 in Orlando, where Bulls fans and supporters will gather at Ember (42 W Central Blvd) in downtown for a complimentary reception from 6-8:30 p.m. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to meet, mix, and mingle with their favorite USF coaches and administrators.

The tour lands in Polk County the following day on June 4 and features an evening gathering at the Lakeland Civic Center (701 W Lime Street) beginning at 6:30 p.m. Those present will be updated on interesting tidbits regarding the Bulls.

The tour breaks for a day before returning to action on June 6 in Pinellas County. The day begins with head football coach Willie Taggart at a teacher's breakfast at the Anona Methodist Church (13233 Indian Rocks Road). The Bulls caravan, led by men's basketball coach Stan Heath and women's basketball coach Jose Fernandez, will make a stop at All Children's Hospital (501 6th Ave South) beginning at 10 a.m.

A stop will be made at the USF St. Petersburg campus (140 Seventh Ave South St.) for a complimentary luncheon featuring coaches Heath, Fernandez and USF sailing coach Allison Jolly. The day will conclude at the Hilton St. Petersburg Carillon Park (950 Lake Carillon Drive) with an evening reception with USF coaches and administrators.

The tour concludes its Florida swing on Friday, June 7 in Sarasota-Manatee. The day begins with a breakfast for Bradenton Business Leaders at Bradenton Country Club (4646 9th Ave West). The caravan will then head to the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus (8350 N Tamiami Trail) for a complimentary luncheon. Things will conclude in style at Marina Jack (2 Marina Plaza) for a dinner cruise from 6-9 p.m.

In addition, USF assistant coaches will be conducting clinics with area youth organizations throughout the week.
