USF GAME NOTES vs. MEMPHIS– Saturday, Nov. 16
TEAM NOTES
· The USF defense allowed only 59 yards passing, the fewest since allowing 34 yards on 9/5/08 against Wofford.
· The USF defense posted five tackles for loss on the day, tying last season’s total of 64.
· USF recovered an onside kick with 0:44 remaining in the fourth quarter, their first successful onside kick since 9/8/2001 at Pittsburgh.
· USF had five turnovers on the day, a season high. The Bulls also threw a season high four interceptions.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
Offense
· WR, #81 Andre Davis made seven catches for 110 yards on the day. Davis now has a catch in 27 straight games. His third catch was the 100th of his career.
· Davis passed Jessie Hester and DeAndrew Rubin for seventh all time in career receiving yards for the Bulls. Davis now has 1,328 yards in his career, compared to Hester’s 1,226 and Rubin’s 1,305.
· Davis also tied Charlie Jackson for seventh all-time with 104 career receptions.
· It was Davis’ second straight 100-yard game, and the third of his career, which ties him for third all-time for 100-yard games.
· OL, #71 Mak Djulbegovic and FB, #33 Tye Turner made their first career starts for USF.
· WR, #88 Chris Dunkley made the longest rush of his career on his third attempt, a 28-yard run in the second quarter.
· TE, #80 Mike McFarland has now made 14 of 15 catches this season for a first down or a touchdown. He finished the day with one catch for seven yards.
· TE, #12 Sean Price had a career high four catches for 18 yards. His previous high was three catches against Cincinnati in 2012.
· RB, #32 Willie Davis tied a career high with 38 rushing yards. He also tied a career high with two catches.
Defense
· CB, #23 Kenneth Durden recorded his first career interception in the first quarter. It was USF’s seventh interception on the season, after recording two in the 2012 season.
· DT, #92 Luke Sager tied a career high with two tackles for loss for three yards. He has now posted a tackle for loss in each of the last six games and extended his team lead to nine tackles for loss on the year.
· LB, #16 Reshard Cliett also tied a career high with two tackles for loss for three yards.
· DT, #53 Elkino Watson set a new career high with three tackles for loss for nine yards and tied his career high in sacks for the third time with one.
Special Teams
· S, #22 Hassan Childs made a 37-yard punt return on his first career attempt in the second quarter.
· WR, #85 Ruben Gonzalez kicked and recovered an onside kick with 0:44 remaining in the fourth quarter. It was his first onside kick attempt.
