CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Sept. 11, 2015)- Brittany Raymond's first career goal became the game winner as the USF women's soccer team downed the Charlotte 49ers, 2-1, Friday night.

Raymond (Orlando, Fla.) scored her first career goal in the 60th minute to give USF (6-0-0) a 2-0 lead. A misplayed ball and turnover just inside the six-yard box allowed Raymond to find the back of the net and give USF some breathing room.

After a slow start, sophomore Ocean Parr (Ontario, Canada) put USF on the board with her third goal of the season. At the 43rd minute mark, Parr made a long run down the left side of the field before sliding a shot past the goalie into the far post.

Charlotte (4-3-0) would get on the board in the 78th minute on a goal by Megan McCallister. Sophomore keeper Kat Eliott (Bradenton, Fla.) had made two incredible saves earlier in the match, but a shot to the upper left 90 got just past Elliott to make it a 2-1 game.

The Bulls outshot the 49ers 10-4 in the first half, notching yet another double-digit shot game. The Bulls have yet to record less than 10 shots in a game this season. USF finished with 16 shots on the night, holding Charlotte to 14.

Elliott recorded five saves on the day, bringing her season total to 24. Elliott and the Bulls have allowed just three goals this season and have outscored their opponents 15-3.

The Bulls continue their tour of the Carolina's with a stop at No. 11 Clemson Sunday, Sept. 13. Kickoff between the Bulls and Tigers is slated for 1 p.m.
