Box Score JACKSON, Miss. (Aug. 19, 2016) – A new location and a lengthy weather delay couldn't slow down the USF women's soccer team as they defeated Louisiana-Monroe, 2-0, Friday afternoon in Jackson, Miss.
The game was played at Millsaps College after severe flooding across the state of Lousiana rendered the playing fields at ULM unplayable.
The Canadian duo of Jordyn Listro and Leticia Skeete put USF (1-0-0) on top in the 27th minute. Skeete scored the Bulls first goal of the season on a beautiful assist from Listro for the game winner.
In the 67th minute, freshman Andrea Hauksdottir scored her first collegiate goal to give USF some breathing room. A deflected shot from Trudi Carter allowed Hauksdottir to gather the rebound and finish the goal, putting the Bulls up 2-0.
