Dooling, Thomas Post Wins at Hoosier Hills

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., FEB. 10, 2017 – The University of South Florida track and field team competed in the Hoosier Hills at Indiana University on Friday.

USF earned three event wins at the meet.

Senior Khadeeja Dooling (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.) won the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.62.

Freshman Curtis Thomas (Auburndale, Fla.) also finished first in the 60m (6.83).

Sophomore Errol D'Angelo Ennis (Jamaica) won the triple jump with a distance of 47-11.75. 

The meet was held at the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse and featured 11 schools from around the country.

Notables

·         Sophomore Stephanie Lambeth (Frankenmuth, Mich.) moves into third all-time at USF with a 13-5.75 pole vault.

·         Senior, Indiana native Sophia Brown (Goshen) notched a 12-8 in the pole vault, fifth all-time in program history.

·         Sophomore David Bell (Jacksonville, Fla.) is now fifth all-time at USF following a 16-9.25 pole vault.

·         Senior Michael Babinec (Riverview, Fla.) ran the fifth fastest mile in USF history (4:17.48).

Next Up

The Bulls’ compete next in the American Athletic Conference Championships on Feb. 24-25 in Birmingham, Ala.

USF’s home meet, its first of the season, will be the Bulls’ Invitational March 17-18.

About USF Track and Field

Led by 11th-year head coach Warren Bye, the USF track and field team has produced 21 All-Americans (eight men, 13 women) since 2000 and at least one All-American in nine of the last 10 years. Recent graduate Matthew O’Neal is USF’s first six-time NCAA All-American. The Bulls return all-conference performer David Akins (pole vault) and Michael Babinec (steeplechase), as well as NCAA qualifier Bernicia Holifield (hammer throw). USF hosts the Bulls Invitational March 17-18 and the USF Invitational April 21-22. USF is home to the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary.
