Simpson Renews with UDG Tenerife
TAMPA (May 17, 2017)-- Former USF women's soccer player Jackie Simpson is continuing to make her pro dreams a reality, renewing her contract with UDG Tenerife, a Spanish team that competes in the Primera Division.
"I feel I'm in one of the best moments of my sports career," Simpson said. "I have fulfilled one of my dreams and every day I work to improve with my team."
Upon graduating in May of 2016, Simpson trained as an amateur with the Orlando Pride of the NWSL, before signing with UDG Tenerife in September of 2016.
Simpson prepared well for the pro level during her highly productive career as a Bull. The center back from Lithia, Fla., logged 78 games of experience in her four-year collegiate career and was named American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2015. Simpson anchored a back line that helped the Bulls record 12 shutouts and showed her scoring ability with four of her eight career goals as a senior.
