Krasny graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor of science in communication, along with a master of arts in education with a concentration in adult education. She was a four-year captain of the Pirate women's golf team, winning four collegiate events and receiving numerous awards for playing ability and classroom excellence. After college, she competed as a professional golfer for two years and represented the FUTURES Tour at various "Meet the Pros" events while marketing the tour and players by playing in weekly pro-am events.

She is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics, was on the ECU Student-Athlete Advisory Council, and was a member of the East Carolina Speakers Bureau while in college.

Krasny is currently pursuing a M.A. in adult education from USF.
