TAMPA - Andrew Barbosa had a pro debut to remember Wednesday night.
USF's former ace left-hander stuck out six in four hitless innings for the Missoula Osprey, which went on to lose to the Billings Mustangs, 8-6, in Montana after the bullpen surrendered eight runs.
Barbosa was assigned to the rookie advanced Pioneer League after he was selected in the 36th round of the 2012 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He posted a 2.75 earned run average with a Big East-best 110 strikeouts in 95 innings in 2012.
