Rudd Named BIG EAST Player of the Week
TAMPA – After averaging 22.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in two USF wins, junior forward Victor Rudd has been named the BIG EAST Player of the Week, the league announced Saturday. It’s the first player of the week honor for a Bull since Dominique Jones during the 2009-10 season.
Rudd opened the week with career-high 16 rebounds and 16 points in a 72-54 win over Youngstown State. It was his second double-double of the season.
In the Bulls’ triple overtime win over Bowling Green, he scored a season-high 29 points while hitting the game-tying 3-pointer with four seconds left in regulation, the game tying 3-pointer with 28 seconds left in the second OT and the go-ahead basket with 13 seconds left in the third OT.
Rudd was also featured on ESPN’s SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays twice this week, reaching No. 6 with a dunk against Youngstown State and No. 8 for his late game heroics vs. Bowling Green.
