TAMPA - USF's challenging spring schedule continues Saturday when the No. 43 Bulls take on No. 47 Washington in the opening round of the national indoor qualifying tournament in Los Angeles.
"They're a very tough team, a Pac-12 team, and it's going to be a difficult match. We've never played them, so it's going to be a good experience," head coach Agustin Moreno said.
Other teams battling for a spot in the tournament's round of 16 are No. 2 UCLA, the host school, and No. 48 San Diego at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
"We're ready and hopefully everything works out at UCLA," Moreno said.
Facing off against top competition is nothing new to USF at this point in the season. The Bulls competed at the Michigan Invitational the last time out and went 3-3 against No. 16 Michigan in singles and took two out of three in doubles against No. 19 Ole Miss. USF also won all three doubles matches against No. 22 Georgia Tech.
USF's tough slate of matches continues Tuesday when it takes on No. 1 Florida in Gainesville.
"We'll see good teams at UCLA and then head to Florida. We have a very tough schedule, which is good for us," Moreno said.
