Herget Picks Up More Freshman All-America Honors

TAMPA – Jimmy Herget continues to reel in the awards after dazzling in his USF debut this past season.
The Big East Rookie of the Year has earned a spot on the 2013 Baseball America Freshman All-America Second Team nearly a month after he picked up Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America honors.
Herget worked his way into USF’s Friday night starter role at the beginning of the season and didn’t disappoint, finishing with a 1.72 ERA that ranked second in the Big East and 25th nationally. The Jefferson High School graduate led USF with a 6-2 record and struck out 60 batters while logging in a team-high 94 innings.
