TAMPA – The USF men’s soccer team will face its toughest test so far this season when it travels to take on No. 14 Michigan on Friday at 8 p.m.
The Bulls’ trip to Ann Arbor will be their first road game this season and will definitely test the team’s ability to perform well in a hostile environment.
"I would imagine Friday night there will be a great crowd for their soccer team and those are the environments my guys want to play in," head coach George Kiefer said.
The Wolverines will also be looking to avenge last year’s 2-1 loss to the Bulls in a game that was aired live on Fox Soccer Channel and drew a Corbett Stadium regular season record crowd of 3,076.
Both sides come into the match with identical 1-0-1 records after a couple early season matches.
USF is coming off of its first win of the season after defeating Stetson, 1-0, on Monday night. Edwin Moalosi scored his first-career goal on a penalty kick in the 81st minute to give the Bulls the victory.
Michigan came away with a 1-1 tie at Bowling Green in its last game and is ranked No. 14 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 25.
"Michigan is a good side, what more could you ask for in a college soccer game? You come to South Florida to play against top teams and you're getting one right off the bat on the road. It should be a blast for us," Kiefer said.
