Bulls Pick Up a Point at SMU With One Game to Go

TAMPA – The Bulls gained an important point in the standings by playing to a scoreless, double-overtime tie with SMU on Thursday night in Dallas.

USF (8-4-5, 3-3-2) now has 11 points in American Athletic Conference play and moved within two points of fourth-place Rutgers and Cincinnati with one game remaining on the schedule. The top four teams at the end of the regular season get to host a second-round American tournament game on Saturday, Nov. 3.

AAC Keeper of the Week Christiane Endler made five saves in her fifth shutout of the season and second in conference play. Senior Sharla Passariello took seven shots to help USF finish with a 15-14 advantage in the category.

The Bulls wrap up their regular season 2 p.m. Sunday at Houston. UCF (14-2-2, 7-0-1) moved into first place in the league standings by handing the Cougars (1-10-3, 0-8) a 4-0 loss in Houston on Thursday night.
