Sweat, Mfeka & Hosseini Grab American Honors

TAMPA - Three players from the USF men’s soccer team have been honored as all-conference performers by the American Athletic Conference.
Senior defender Ben Sweat was named to the All-American Conference First Team after starting all 18 games on the Bulls’ back line this season. Sweat was tabbed Preseason Defender of the Year for the conference at the beginning of the year and posted one goal this season while helping USF record seven shutouts.
Midfielder’s Lindo Mfeka and Samuel Hosseini were both selected to the All-American Conference Second Team.
Mfeka leads the team with 14 points and is also tied for the team lead in goals (five) and assists (four) this season.
The freshman from Durban, South Africa was also named to the American All-Rookie Team as he currently ranks first on the team in shots with 49.
Hosseini is currently sixth on the team with 23 shots and has one goal this season from his defending midfield position. The senior also served as one of the team captains this season.
The Bulls (7-2-8) face off against Rutgers tomorrow night at 6 p.m. in the American Athletic Conference semifinals at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
