TAMPA - USF men’s soccer defender Ben Sweat will join some of the country’s top players as he is one of 50 NCAA Division I college seniors that has been selected to attend the 2014 MLS Draft Combine.
The combine is set to take place Jan. 10-14 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where coaches from all 19 MLS teams will be in attendance. All 50 players were selected by a committee made up of MLS representatives and Division I coaches.
Last month was ranked No. 8 on the 2014 MLS SuperDraft Big Board in an article released by TopDrawerSoccer.com that can be seen HERE.
The senior defender was named All-American Athletic Conference First Team this season and recorded 14 career points during his four years with the Bulls. He also led the Bulls’ back line that posted 31 shutouts over the past four seasons.
