No. 74 Bulls Complete Weekend Sweep, Defeat UNF

TAMPA, FEB. 2, 2014 – After defeating Florida Gulf Coast 6-1 on Saturday, it was much of the same on Sunday for the No. 74 Bulls, as they defeated the University of North Florida Ospreys 6-1 at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts.

The day started out strong with two quick doubles wins. The 16th-ranked team of Oliver Pramming and Ignacio Gonzalez-Muniz defeated UNF's Norbert Nemcsek and Jack Findel-Hawkins 6-2 in the first match. In match number two, Roberto Cid and Sasha Gozun defeated Yannick Zuern and Caio Gomes of UNF 6-1.

In singles the Bulls once again won all but one match. All of the Bulls' five singles wins came in straight sets.

"I was really pleased with the guys' effort today. They competed really well and played with their mind as well," Head Coach Matt Hill said. "They played smart and we've been talking a lot about that. They're still working through that because they're very young, but we're working hard with the video and trying to teach them decisions in certain areas. I am really proud of the guys. All across the board I was very pleased."

Oliver Pramming had a big singles win for the Bulls today after a tough loss in a tiebreaker yesterday. Today, Pramming defeated Caio Gomes 6-3, 6-2 on court one.

"I thought Oliver did a really good job today. Yesterday he had a really tough match and lost it” Hill said. “He had a lot of opportunities yesterday. Today he played a really good player and he made a lot of really good adjustments in terms of tactics and decision-making that yesterday he struggled with."

Also getting big singles wins today for the Bulls were Roberto Cid, Vadym Kalyuzhnyy, Finn Meinecke, and Ignacio Gonzalez-Muniz. The only loss on the day for the Bulls was a nail-biter, with Sasha Gozun losing in a third-set tiebreaker. Jack Findel-Hawkins picked up the win for UNF, 6-4, 2-6, 6-5 (3).

USF will return to the courts weekend in Coral Gables, when they play Texas Tech on Feb. 8 and Miami on Feb. 9.
