TAMPA, Fla. -- Sports Illustrated is the latest national media outlet with high expectations for the University of South Florida football team this fall.

SI has the Bulls ranked at No. 25 in their season preview and has joined a growing group picking the Bulls as a sleeper in the Big East.

SI went on to pick the Bulls to finish with an 8-4 record and a trip to the Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte, N.C.  The predicted opponent is Wake Forest, who played against fellow Big East member Louisville in last season's Fed Ex Orange Bowl.

The experts were impressed with, "Coach Jim Leavitt's start-up program (the Bulls are beginning just their seventh season in Division I-A) has knocked off Louisville and West Virginia in the past two seasons."

Additionally, Matt Grothe came in at No. 10 in SI.com "Top 10 Players in the Big East".
