Bulls Bash at Channelside Tonight

TAMPA, Fla. – In 2007-08, the University of South Florida athletic department will receive unprecedented radio coverage in Tampa and surrounding markets.

"CBS Radio and Clear Channel have given us a great platform for USF football,” said USF Athletics Director Doug Woolard. “We wanted to build upon the anticipation for the season and we have really come up with a package that will excite our fans.”

The package includes all football games and a newly expanded 90 minute pregame show on WFLA 970 AM. 

Longtime USF play-by-play man Jim Louk will be joined by analyst Mark Robinson, as well as pre and post game hosts Jim Lighthall and Jeff Fisher.  Mike Pepper will serve as the sideline reporter.

WFLA will also be the home of all football postgame shows.

Fans can also catch the football games in Fort Lauderdale on WFLL 1400 AM, in Orlando on WORL 660 AM, in Port St. Lucie on WPSL 1590 AM and in Stuart on WTSU 1590 AM.

WQYK 1010 AM, which is owned by CBS Radio, will air the Thursday night Bull Session with Jim Leavitt. 

Bulls Bash Information

The USF Athletic Department will kickoff the 2007 season and Coach Leavitt’s first call in show with the Bulls Bash at Channelside Bay Harbor this Thursday.

The event, which will focus around Leavitt’s radio show, will run from 6-8 p.m. in the main plaza area at Channelside.

“Channelside is a hot spot downtown and we wanted to create a lively atmosphere for the kick off of Coach Leavitt’s radio show and the 2007 season,” said Ayo Taylor-Dixon.  “Fans should come down and enjoy the best of South Tampa and the best of college football.”

In addition to Coach Leavitt, a large contingent of the USF football team will be on hand to sign autographs and take part in the festivities.

The USF Sun Dolls, cheerleaders and Rocky will be hand to entertain fans of all ages.  USF staff members will Giveaways including USF authentic jersey, apparel and more. Admission is FREE to the event.
