TAMPA - The University of South Florida has teamed up with Northwestern Mutual Teague Financial Group to spotlight the Bulls in the classroom with three academic projects.
"We are very excited to begin this relationship with Northwestern Mutual," said Justin Miller, Assistant Athletics Director for Academics & Student-Athlete Development. "USF Athletics takes great pride in leadership development and the overall student-athlete experience and it is fantastic for a company like Northwestern Mutual, who shares our core values, to offer their support in our efforts to provide the best services possible."
First, the USF Academic Enrichment Center staff will choose a Bull as the Northwestern Mutual Academic Student-Athlete of the Month. Factors in the selection for this honor will be classroom success, GPA and overall academic status.
Second, in association with the USF Champs Life Skills program, Northwestern Mutual will host a Leadership Workshop Series where each semester, student-athletes will learn about a series of topics from networking, public speaking, money skills, time management, resume building and dining etiquette, just to name a few.
Lastly, USF will also host the Northwestern Mutual Bull Challenge, where the athletic teams will compete against one another in terms of GPA, attendance at campus events, spirit and attendance at Champs Life Skills Events.
