| Day 7 - Wednesday, Aug. 11 |
|
Multimedia Wednesday's evening practice was under threat from incoming storms for the entire session, but dark, thunder clouds paced by without interrupting. The storms weren't the only thing generating buzz at camp on Wednesday, as Skip's dad, and hall of fame college coach, Lou Holtz graced the Bulls with his presense at practice. Holtz gave a speech to the team before they took the field, and cruised around practice in a golf cart decked out in USF gear throughout the afternoon. After two-a-days on Tuesday, the Bulls practiced for about two and half half hours with limited contact, trying to preserve the players' bodies after a tough day on Tuesday. Mo Plancher shined throughout the evening session, as he was able to find a few holes and even helped pick up blitzes in the pass rush drill. The senior entered camp as the Bulls' starter, and has been instrumental in helping to show some of the younger guys how to adjust to the college football environment. Fans who came out were dazzled by the wide receivers who showcased a few one-handed grabs, and big catches across the middle, especially from wideout Dontavian Bogan, and tight end Issac Virgin. Attend Training Camp Practices at Vero Beach See first-year head coach Skip Holtz and the Bulls prepare for the 2010 season up close and personal while attending 12 practices, including one scrimmage on Aug. 14. Check out the Vero Beach Sports Village website for directions to the facility. Fans are allowed to bring still-shot cameras, but no video cameras. Also, fans should refrain from asking players for autographs during practice.
