TAMPA – A selfless approach has helped Noelle Pineiro earn individual attention.
The USF women’s soccer player was named Big East Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, a day after racking up five points in a 9-0 victory over Alabama A&M. The senior midfielder/forward had three assists and a goal in the Bulls’ second straight win.
“Noelle worked hard in the last game and has contributed in all of them,” head coach Denise Schilte-Brown said. “She has really focused on trying to make her teammates better and that’s a real good thing.”
The Bulls (2-1) have worked hard on forward combination play this season and Pineiro has been popular in the process.
“Everybody enjoys combining with Noelle,” Schilte-Brown said. “She’s got great passing technique, good vision and she is very lethal in front of the goal as well. I think when you put all those things together you have a great combination.”
The Bulls get back into action at home 5 p.m. Friday against Vanderbilt in the weekend Dafeldecker Classic. USF’s second test in the Classic is Sunday against Murray State at 2 p.m.
