TAMPA - Ryne Giddins has been rewarded for his breakout game as a Bull.

The redshirt sophomore defensive end was named to the Big East's Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after he posted a career-high 11 tackles, two sacks and 3.5 tackles for losses, a forced fumble and a pass breakup in a 16-10 loss at Connecticut on Saturday.

Giddins didn't know exactly how well he did until the game was over and a teammate showed him his stat line Saturday night.

"I was just in a zone, just playing football and not thinking about anything," he said.

Giddins has been in a zone often this season.

The Seffner, Fla., native is second on the team in tackles for losses (6) and is tied for the team lead with three sacks. Giddins already has surpassed his tackles total from all of last season (19) by five through six games.
