TAMPA - University of South Florida redshirt freshman RT Quinterrius Eatmon was named second-team Freshman All-America, Yahoo Sports announced on Monday. Eatmon is the third freshman in the last two years to earn Freshman All-America honors after LB DeDe Lattimore and PR Terrence Mitchell did so last season.

Eatmon was part of a stellar USF offensive line that entered 2011 needing to replace three seniors. He won the right tackle job in the spring after shedding nearly 60 pounds during his redshirt season. Eatmon went on to start all 12 games for the Bulls and graded out a winner in seven contests. During the season, he was only responsible for 1.5 of USF's 16 sacks allowed.

With Eatmon along the front, the USF offense advanced greatly in all major offensive statistics. The Bulls improved their national rank from 71st to 33rd in rushing offense, 68th to 34th in sacks allowed and 105th to 31st in total offense in 2011. USF led the BIG EAST in rushing offense (183.2 ypg) and sacks allowed (1.3 pg), while finishing second in total offense (459.6 ypg).
