TAMPA - The Bulls will be calling the USF Recreation Center home for the rest of this women's basketball season.

USF Athletics made the move official after getting approval from the Big East and contribute a number of factors to staying on campus instead of traveling to an off-campus site.

USF Athletics found the recreation center good for game management and great for the student-athlete experience. The ability to play on campus went into the decision along with the center having available dates on its schedule for games.

USF went 4-0 at the recreation center in nonconference play and the overall response from players has been very positive about the venue.

"I don't know what it is about the rec center," head coach Jose Fernandez said after the Bulls' 72-36 win over Bethune-Cookman on Nov. 17. "For one reason or another, they really like it. It's loud."

"The fans are right there. The band is right there, so it's a nice win for us to get at home," junior guard Kaneisha Saunders said earlier this season.

All games feature free admission for fans at the USF Recreation Center, which is a short walk away from the USF Athletics parking lot and the Sun Dome.

USF's next home game is its Big East opener Saturday, Jan. 7 against Georgetown at 7 p.m.
