Bulls Add LeDay to 2012-13 Class

April 11, 2012
TAMPA - University of South Florida's 2012-13 recruiting class got even better on Wednesday as head coach Stan Heath announced the signing of 6-7 forward Zach LeDay (The Colony, Texas). LeDay will join an already stellar class, which was ranked 12th nationally by HoopScoop, prior to today's announcement.

"Zach was an important signee for us," Heath said. "He fills a void on our front line losing Ron [Anderson Jr.] and Gus [Gilchrist]. He's a guy that can score inside and out. He's very versatile in his game and has a great motor. We're very excited to add him to our 2012-13 class."

The Texas native averaged a team-best 20.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per game for The Colony HS during his senior season to help lead the Cougars to a 30-6 record. He reached double-figure scoring in all but two games and posted at least 20 points 17 times while also racking up back-to-back 30 point games.

"Zach is a very hard worker and a tough kid whose motor runs all the time at a high level," said Assistant Coach Steve Roccaforte. "He's got great energy and is a mismatch because he is a 6-7 forward that can step out and shoot the ball well."

LeDay joins an already solid USF recruiting class, which was ranked 12th by HoopScoop, for next season in 2012 JUCO First Team All-American Waverly Austin, four-star shooting guard Javontae Hawkins and 6-5 shooting guard JUCO transfer Musa Abdul-Aleem.
