EUGENE - University of South Florida senior David Aristil clocked a 50.04 in the 400m hurdles semifinals Friday afternoon at the U.S. Olympic Outdoor Track and Field Trials to finish 10th overall. The USF record holder in the event just missed advancing to the finals by two spots as the top eight move on.
"David had a great experience out here in Eugene, running against the top 400m hurdlers in the country but just came up short," said USF head coach Warren Bye. "To finish 10th is a great accomplishment and he'll not only grow from this meet but be able to use it down the road as he continues to compete."
Aristil opened the meet with a 50.53 in the prelims to finish 10th overall as well and earn a spot in the semis. The three-time NCAA Outdoor All-American wrapped up a stellar career with USF this spring setting the school record with a personal-best time of 49.54 that placed him fifth at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Meet.
