TAMPA -- University of South Florida head coach Skip Holtz has accepted an invitation to compete in the 2012 American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe. The 54-hole competition is Friday through Sunday at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. This will be Holtz's first time playing in the championship after participating in the Celeb-Am tournament last year.

"I'm really looking forward to this," said Holtz. "The list of competitors is pretty amazing, so it will be a lot of fun to get out there and raise some money for charity. It will also give me a chance to continue to spread the word about what's going on at USF and the good things taking place in Tampa. It should be a nice couple of days."

Holtz is one of three college football head coaches in the field. He'll be joined by Ohio State's Urban Meyer and South Carolina's Steve Spurrier. Other big names on the participant list include Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Jerry Rice, Aaron Rodgers, Emmitt Smith and many others.

All three rounds of the tournament will be broadcast on the NBC family of networks. NBC Sports will air Friday's round from 4-7 p.m. EST and NBC will have coverage on Saturday and Sunday from 3-6 p.m. EST. The tournament raises money and awareness for LIVESTRONG, the official charity. Further information on the tournament can be found at www.tahoecelebritygolf.com.
