TAMPA - The USF men's soccer program has announced its 2012 schedule that includes talented opponents and a nationally televised home soccer game.

The Bulls are coming off a memorable season that included a 13-4-4 record and an undefeated run through Big East regular season play on the way to winning the Red Division title. USF made it all the way to the NCAA Elite Eight for only the third time in the program's history.

USF's 2012 slate begins with an exhibition test at home against Jacksonville Tuesday, Aug. 14 followed by another exhibition game against the University of Tampa on Aug. 18 at Corbett Soccer Stadium that hosted more than 18,000 fans during its inaugural season in 2011.

The tuned-up Bulls will take the national stage for their regular season opener when they host Michigan in a contest that will be broadcast on Fox Soccer Channel on Aug. 24.

The Bulls will play in the Tulsa Tournament Aug. 31 and Sept. 2 before coming home to host the USF Tournament that includes games against South Carolina (Sept. 6) and Iona (Sept. 8).

USF begins Big East play at Red Division rival Villanova on Sept. 29 followed by a game at Cincinnati on Oct. 3 before the Bulls come home to host Rutgers on Oct. 6.

USF's schedule also includes matchups against Akron (Sept. 16 at Akron), FGCU (Sept. 25 at home). Both programs joined the Bulls in the NCAA tournament field last season with Akron making it all the way to the third round of competition.

"When you work with very talented, motivated, competitive athletes they want to play the best teams they can and I believe this schedule will be among the toughest in the country," USF head coach George Kiefer said. "We look forward to the day-to-day and week-to-week experiences we will share together as a team facing such a great schedule."
