TAMPA - Two Bulls have been rewarded by the Big East for their solid performances during a 2-0 weekend at the Corral.
The conference has named Erin Fairs its freshman of the week after she posted double-doubles in victories over Villanova and Georgetown that improved the Bulls' record to 12-9 (4-4 in Big East). Junior Kayla Walton made the Big East Weekly Honor Roll after posting 25 kills in the victories.
Fairs registered three kills per set in the matches and added 4.75 kills per set and 0.75 blocks per set. She set a career high on Friday with a .423 hitting percentage in a 3-0 win over Villanova.
Walton wound up leading USF with 3.12 kills per set and she committed just three errors all weekend. Walton ranks second on the team with 204 kills this season, while Fairs is third with 189.
USF wraps up a four-match homestand with two more tests at the Corral this weekend. The Bulls host UConn 7 p.m. Friday and face St. John's 2 p.m. Sunday. Purchase tickets HERE.
