TAMPA - The Bulls are excited to finish their fall season in front of a lot of familiar faces.

The USF women's tennis team is set to host the Florida State Championships Friday through Sunday at the USF Varsity and PE Courts.

"The girls get very motivated when they play at USF. I love when we're competing here and wish it was longer. I think we're ready," head coach Agustin Moreno said.

Ecaterina Vasenina, USF's top singles player, has a first-round bye in the main draw and will face the winner of the Kristina Sehleich (FSU)-Sofia Baptista (UCF) match.

Fanny Fracassi plays one of USF's first singles matches of the day in the first round of the main draw against FAMU's Stephanie Miller. Kate Parker also starts with a FAMU opponent when she meets Shane Williams in the first round.

Loreto Alonso Martinez has earned a first-round bye and starts singles play against Miami's Brittany Dubins.

Parker and teammate Alessandra Bonte get an automatic bid to the second round of doubles, along with Vasenina and Alonso Martinez.

"It's an important tournament," Moreno said. "We have very tough players coming in and it's the last tournament that we have to get ready for the regular season."
