TAMPA - The USF men's tennis team will finish its fall seasons in two locations and on one surface.
The Bulls step onto the clay courts this week at the Futures Tournament and the Dick Vitale LWR Intercollegiate Classic. USF veterans Federico Sabogal, Ravi Patel and Oliver Pramming get things started during Friday's first rounds of the Futures pro event at IMG Academy in Bradenton.
"That's what we're making this program about. It's not just college tennis, but helping these guys move their tennis forward after they're done here," first-year head coach Matt Hill said. "Playing professional events are a huge part of what this program is going to be about."
USF's four other players will face some of the nation's best players starting Friday at the Dick Vitale event in Sarasota. Both of the Bulls' tournaments will wrap up on Sunday.
"There are multiple top-10 teams coming to the tournament. It's about these guys seeing some of the best tennis in this country outside of the state of Florida. We're not leaving the state, but we're getting to see opponents from all over the country," Hill said.
