Watch USF in the NCAA Tournament for Free

ATTENTION STUDENTS: There will be a free student tailgate prior to kickoff.

TAMPA -- Fans have a prime opportunity to watch the USF men's soccer team begin its chase for an NCAA title.

The Tampa Bay Sports Commission and USF Athletics have provided free general admission to Thursday's 7 p.m. NCAA Tournament first-round game between the Bulls and Florida Gulf Coast at Corbett Soccer Stadium.

"We're excited to be hosting an NCAA Tournament match in Corbett Soccer Stadium for the second year in a row," Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Doug Woolard said. "We want to make it as much of a home-field advantage as possible, and once again, our friends at the Tampa Bay Sports Commission have helped make this a USF and community event. Last year, we welcomed over 3,000 fans for each of the NCAA Tournament games, and with your help, we look forward to setting a new record this Thursday."

The Bulls (8-5-4) have earned trips to the NCAA Tournament in each of the last six seasons and seven of the last eight. Last season, the Bulls won both their second-round and third-round NCAA Tournament games in front of the home fans en route to a berth in the Elite Eight. This year, USF earned a home tournament game thanks to a brutal non-conference schedule that saw them go 6-2-1 and finish the season ranked 25th in the RPI.

The game will also serve as a collection site for the Tampa Bay Sports Commission's Replay Tampa Bay program that helps local kids in need receive new or gently used sporting goods.

"We're excited to partner with USF and the NCAA to help fill Corbett Stadium for the next chapter in the storied success of soccer in Tampa Bay," said Rob Higgins, Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission. "We hope everyone will consider bringing an item to the match to help local kids in need as part of our 'Replay Tampa Bay' program."
