The Bulls added a fourth signee to their signing class Friday, inking Kristen Wyckoff from Plant City, Fla. to the 2013 recruiting class. A shortstop with speed and a good bat, Wyckoff will add a solid glove and a strong offensive presence to the Bulls’ team for the 2014 season.
A lefty at the plate, Wyckoff is hitting .457 through three years of high school, and was named to the all-conference second team in 2010. Wyckoff stole 38 bases in 38 attempts in 2010, and posted a .476 on-base percentage.
“Kristen Wyckoff is a player that can change the course of a game with one at bat. Her speed allows her to make a double out of a walk. Her instincts on the ball field has me really excited about the future of USF’s offense,” head coach Ken Eriksen said. “Kristen can play several positions and will help keep the traditional thought of our program that ‘one injury at a defensive position won’t force us to take a step back.’ Her versatility is powerful.”
Wyckoff is touted as an all-around athlete, excelling in volleyball, basketball, track, flag football and soccer. In 2009, she received her school’s Outstanding Female Athlete Award. Wyckoff is also an excellent student, holding a 4.13 GPA through high school.
Wyckoff joins Juli Weber, Susan Wysocki and Tacoia Williams to fill out a strong 2013 recruiting class.
