TAMPA - Fans attending Saturday's 6 p.m. game at the Sun Dome will catch the Bulls at a very important time in their season.
USF (13-5, 2-3) has a chance to get back to even ground in the Big East when it faces Marquette at 6 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets HERE for the game that will be televised locally on Bright House Sports Network.
The Bulls are coming off a 74-52 victory at Seton Hall on Tuesday night that featured a great performance by a trio of freshmen. Forward Alisia Jenkins posted 15 points, guard Courtney Williams added 12 points and eight rebounds, and guard Shavontae Naylor scored all of her six points in the first half to help USF start with a 30-20 lead.
"We're almost a third of the way into conference play and we're getting our freshmen more minutes," head coach Jose Fernandez said. "They came out and played with passion and energy, and gave us great minutes."
The Bulls are 8-2 at the Sun Dome this season and seek their second straight win over the Golden Eagles. Inga Orekhova scored a team-high 14 points and Andrell Smith added 11 more in a 61-48 win last February in Milwaukee, Wisc.
Marquette (10-8, 2-3) is looking to rebound from a heartbreaking 64-63 loss to No. 13 Louisville on Tuesday. A 3-pointer by Katie Young gave the Golden Eagles a lead with 13 seconds remaining before Louisville's Monique Reid went down the court and scored the winning basket.
USF finishes up its two-game stay at the Sun Dome 7 p.m. Wednesday with a test against Louisville.
