TAMPA - First-year head coach Matt Hill is taking the Bulls to one of his old stomping grounds.
The No. 54 USF men's tennis team gets another look at top competition Sunday when it visits No. 24 LSU in Baton Rouge. Hill is very familiar with the Tigers after two spending a total of seven years in the SEC as an assistant at Alabama and Mississippi State.
"LSU always has a good team. They're really good in doubles and it's a nightmare to play at their place," Hill said. "The fans really get into it. It's a tough place to play, which will be good for our guys to get a taste of that."
USF is 2-1 this spring with home victories over FAU and St. John's. The Bulls lost to No. 48 BYU at last weekend's ITA Kickoff Weekend in Los Angeles and have prepared all week for their greatest test yet this season. Sunday's action is scheduled for 1 p.m. at W.T. "Dub" Robinson Stadium.
The Bulls return to Tampa for a three-match homestand that starts Friday, Feb. 8 against North Florida at 2 p.m. USF hosts Miami on Sunday, Feb. 10 and FAMU on Saturday, Feb. 16. Admission is free all regular season at the USF Varsity Courts.
Head back to GoUSFBulls.com next week for a look at how Hill has been helping the Bulls take the next step in their pursuit of becoming national contenders.
