TAMPA - USF right-hander Lindsey Richardson has been named Big East Softball Pitcher of the Week.
The senior earned the honor by going 2-0 and not giving up an earned run in 15 innings for the Bulls at last weekend's USF Tournament. Richardson struck out 24 batters and allowed seven hits and two runs in four appearances.
Richardson (3-1) allowed one run on one hit and struck out 10 batters in 5 1/3 innings of USF's 5-1 win over Coastal Carolina on Sunday.
Richardson has a 0.25 ERA with 41 strikeouts in 28 1/3 innings of work this season. The Estero, Fla., native made the Big East Weekly Honor Roll last Monday after throwing a no-hitter in USF's season opener.
USF's season continues Friday through Sunday at the NFCA Leadoff Classic at the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater. The Bulls start off with a game against Southern Illinois on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
