TAMPA - The well-rested Bulls get back into action 7 p.m. Wednesday at No. 23 Pittsburgh.
USF has had a week to prepare for the Panthers after the Bulls' 69-54 loss at St. John's on Feb. 20 in Queens, N.Y. USF (10-16, 1-13) is looking to snap a nine-game losing streak while the Panthers (21-7, 9-6) have won eight of their past 11 contests.
USF star point guard Anthony Collins could reach a career milestone with a solid game against the Panthers. The sophomore needs eight assists to move into a tie for 10th place with Dominique Jones (328) on USF's career list. Collins needs three more assists to top his total of 161 from last season that ranks seventh on the Bulls' single-season list.
Another player that's been a consistent contributor for USF has been junior Victor Rudd, who posted his sixth double-double of the season against St. John's. The forward leads the Bulls in scoring (11.5 ppg) and rebounding with 7.1 boards per game.
USF is 5-5 all-time against the Panthers and has won the past two meetings.
After Pitt, the Bulls return to the Sun Dome for the final two home games of their season. USF takes on DePaul 2 p.m. Sunday and faces UConn on Wednesday, March 6 at 9 p.m. The Bulls wrap up their regular season Saturday, March 9 at Cincinnati.
