TAMPA – The Bulls ended Brown’s six-match winning streak on Wednesday and look to cool off another talented opponent 2 p.m. Friday when No. 63 UNC-Wilmington visits the USF Varsity Courts.
The Seahawks (11-4) take a three-match winning streak to Tampa and seek their first road win of the season in five trips. UNC-Wilmington won its 10th straight home match Tuesday when it cruised past Dartmouth, 7-0.
Admission is free for USF's home finale and head coach Matt Hill said the match will be no easy task.
“I don’t think their ranking reflects their level at all,” Hill said. “It’s going to be a really tough match for us, so hopefully we’ll have good crowd support and a solid team effort from the guys to keep rolling.”
USF (7-7) snapped a two-match losing streak by getting past Brown, 5-2, with a strong team effort. Oliver Pramming and Ignacio Gonzalez-Muniz set the tone with an 8-3 doubles win and the Bulls clinched the doubles point with an 8-6 victory by Everth Dzib and Guillermo De Vilchez.
