TAMPA – Aces Sara Nevins and Lindsey Richardson combined to throw a two-hit shutout to help the Bulls complete a series sweep at Pitt on Sunday afternoon.

Nevins (16-5) allowed a hit and struck out seven in the first six innings of the Bulls’ 5-0 victory at Petersen Sports Complex. Richardson struck out one in an inning of relief as USF allowed just one run in all three games combined.

USF (32-11, 10-1) has won nine straight and 26 of its past 27 games after getting good support from its bats in Sunday’s series finale. Stephanie Medina went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, freshmen Lee Ann Spivey and Morgan Litchfield drove in runs and Kourtney Salvarola scored twice.

The Bulls step out of Big East play to battle in-state rival No. 3 Florida 6 p.m. Wednesday in Gainesville. The Bulls return to USF Softball Stadium to host Providence in a three-game series that starts with a doubleheader Saturday, April 13 at 1 p.m.
